WHO AM I?
My name is Mariah Vlach (pronounced Vlock) and I am a Certified Hypnotherapist through the International Hypnosis Federation, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. I am a third generation Slavic-American. My ancestors, an ancient band of sheep herders and some of history's most peaceful people's, hail from Eastern Europe. These people were an indigenous, matrilineal culture, who practiced alchemical earth folklore and healing rituals. Despite millennia of persecution, the Vlach people still exist. They live in the mountains of Eastern Serbia and continue to practice their traditional ways of life, just as their ancestors did. It is to them, that I am indebted to the work I do.
My journey of self-discovery has led me around the world, studying within many cultures and traditions of meditation, psychology, and the arts of healing and alchemy.
In 2008, I was led to the reality television show 'Survivor' where I worked in production on and off for 10 years. While traveling abroad on the show, I had the opportunity to integrate my deep curiosity of the world with my desire to understand and connect humanity, history, healing, culture, media, and the limitations and potentials of the human mind, across the globe.
Here, I received the opportunity to study within the culture and religions of West Africa, shamans of the eastern Brazilian desert, medicine people of the Amazon rain forest, and the Pacific Islanders of Samoa & Fiji. Upon my return to the United States, I received my yoga teacher training at the Omega Institute located in the Catskills Mountains of New York and later pursued a professional education in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Bastyr University, in the Five Elemental Philosophy.
In 2019, I received my MA degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on Depth and Archetypal Psychology.
I have experience in counseling for substance use disorders, where I worked as a Marriage and Family Therapist in a prominent drug and alcohol treatment center located southern Orange County, CA, specializing in men's and women's support groups that focus on addiction as a spiritual malady. I am also a member of the humanitarian committee with ACEP, the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology, and a past board member for the I-5 Freedom Network, a non-profit corporate training platform that specializes in targeting and eliminating human trafficking in the Southern California areas.
I have over 8 years' experience and training in Hypnotherapy. I received my certification from educator and author, Mary Lee LaBay, PhD, in 2011 at Bastyr University and graduated from Antioch University Seattle in 2015 with a BA in Liberal Studies with an area of concentration in Spiritual Studies, where I studied and practiced many styles and philosophies of earth-based indigenous healing and wisdom, including my own profound 4-day vision quest in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State.
Over the last 13 years, I have been a persistent practitioner of Kelee® Meditation, founded by Ron W. Rathbun, Author and President of the Kelee® Foundation, Oceanside, CA. For more information, please visit, www.thekelee.org.
WORK WITH ME
I work holistically, encompassing and welcoming all parts of you. My work is a dynamic blend of contemporary, indigenious, and intuitive techniques, learned and discovered through many years of experience, education, and training. I lead from the heart, while always upholding to the highest ethical standards of my profession. I work from the ground level up, so it is important that I get to know you. Our first session is an introductory. We talk about you and your past, allowing me deeper insight into who you are and where you are blocked. Here, I am able to begin a treatment plan that encompasses all of you. We work together through the processes and modalities I use. The more open, willing, and forgiving you are to explore the shadows of your mind, the more understanding and liberation you will experience as we embark upon this journey together. It's more possible than you may realize.
